New solar rebates to take effect March 1, 2024
announce

RMLD's rebate for residential and commercial solar will be changing beginning on March 1, 2024. The rebate amount will change from $1,200 per kilowatt to $600 per kilowatt. To qualify for the $1,200 rebate, customers MUST submit an initial application and signed customer contract no later than February 29, 2024.

For more information on the rebate process visit: Residential and Small Commercial Solar Rebate Page and for large commercial customers: Commercial Solar Rebate Page.

RMLD introduced its $1,200 per kilowatt solar rebate in July 2021 following the conclusion of DOER's Municipal Light Plant Solar Rebate Program funding. Initially, both DOER and RMLD contributed $600 per kilowatt. Seeking to sustain solar momentum post-DOER funding and in hopes that the program would be renewed, RMLD temporarily doubled its contribution. Now, with enhanced state and federal incentives due to the Inflation Reduction Act, RMLD is returning to its original $600 per kilowatt rebate. The funds will be redirected to support other programs.
