Electric Vehicle Charger Rebate

• Level 2 Network Enabled[1] Electric Vehicle Charging Station that is installed at the customer’s residence within RMLD’s service territory. Level 1 chargers are not eligible. Wiring and installation costs are not eligible.

• The Customer shall enroll in the RMLD's Residential Time-of-Use Schedule A2 Rate for a minimum of one year.
• The customer shall provide, or authorize the EV charger manufacturer or their vehicle manufacturer to provide, RMLD with access to their charging data.
• The station must be installed by a licensed electrician.
• An RMLD Utility Authorization Number (UAN) is required.
• A Town Wiring Inspection is required post-installation (A Town Electrical Permit is a prerequisite to the wiring inspection).
• Exception: If the station is to be plugged into an existing 240-VAC outlet, then no wiring inspection is required for the rebate to be paid.

Pre-Installation:

• The contractor must call RMLD at 781-942-6598 to obtain a Utility Authorization Number (UAN).
• The contractor must obtain a Town Electrical Permit.

Post-Installation:

• The contractor must ensure that the Town Wiring Inspection is completed.

Required Supporting Documentation:

• Proof of Purchase (must include description of item, purchase date, price paid, and purchased from)
• Equipment Specification Sheet
• Photo of the installed EV Charger
• Photo of serial number on the EV Charger
• Signed Customer Data Sharing and Time-of-Use Rate Agreement
  

Application Deadline: Application and supporting documentation must be received within 180 days of final wiring inspection.

Payment Method: Rebate will be issued as a bill credit.

• February 12, 2021 - Exception regarding wiring inspection with existing 240-VAC outlet added under Other Requirements.
• January 20, 2021 - Other Requirements and Process Steps updated to include pre-installation UAN and electrical permit requirements, and post-installation wiring inspection requirements.
• July 1, 2019 - Changes to incentive amount and maximum incentive; addition of Customer Data Sharing and Time-of-Use requirements.
• Please Note: Network Enabled - the charger has the capability to connect to the internet and transmit and receive information.
