Reading Municipal Light Department has the following open position:

                                              SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR

The Systems Administrator will design, support and provide enhancement for all RMLD software applications including:  Geographical Information Systems, Automated Vehicle Location, Outage Management, Customer Information System and Financial Management.  The successful candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or MIS with a minimum 3 years experience in the GIS field. Duties and knowledge to include:

  • Update GIS system and its software applications.  Develop GIS functions, procedures and perform analysis.
  • Streamline day-to-day GIS and integration tasks utilizing tools such as Model Builder and Python.
  • Ability to use database management systems such as SQL Server, MS Access and Crystal Reports to assist departments in improving functionality.
  • Experience with GIS and spatial analysis and knowledge of ArcGis software, tools, extensions, models and theory.
  • Other IT tasks include network administration, hardware and software support as required.
We are seeking someone with a positive attitude and excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. Prior experience in a utility environment with GPS and data collection and GISP certification is desired
