smWorkdayatSalvationArmy.jpgReading Municipal Light Department (RMLD) Community Relations Assistant and Good Neighbor Energy Fund (GNEF) Secretary Bobbi Maillett (sitting-left) and RMLD Community Relations Manager Priscilla Gottwald (sitting-right) joined other GNEF members at Salvation Army (SA) Headquarters in Boston on January 27 to open thousands of donation envelopes from customers from 20 utilities across the state who support the GNEF.  Helping in processing the checks are: (back row, l-r) SA Captain Terry Shaffer; Concord Municipal Light Department’s Barbara Janowsky; GNEF Chairman and Western Mass Electric’s Kate Agin; NSTAR’s Mary Ellen Molloy; SA Major Betty Carter; National Grid’s Julie Wilcox; and North Attleborough Electric’s Melissa Brastow.  GNEF is a cooperative effort between sponsoring Massachusetts energy companies, The Salvation Army and caring neighbors throughout the Commonwealth.  The GNEF has raised over $12.6 million and assisted nearly 62,500 families with a month's energy expense since its inception in 1985.
